Statement

Stereopsis is the process in the brain that combines the two slightly different perspectives from our eyes to create the perception of depth. Stereoscopic images similarly create the illusion of depth by showing each eye two separate, slightly different images. There are many methods of displaying stereoscopic images, however Two Worlds uses polarized light and filters to block one image and allow one image to each eye. The images were taken through a dissecting microscope of different types of tree lichen.
